Ever since the year started, I have been blogging about my activities during the holiday but this one was fun because I did the planning and coordination….(thinking of adding event planning to my portfolio)
If you’re on my IG, you will know a very good friend of mine got married during the holiday and it fell on me to plan the bridal shower and we wanted it to be a surprise…
How a friend of hers got her to leave the group chat is what I do not know till today, However, the major thing is that the surprise worked.
Straight to the planning, when she left the group, everyone was paraing(ask your Nigerian friends the meaning) that she left, had to calm everyone down as the assistant bride.
So I started by telling them it’s time for us to plan a bridal shower for her and immediately everyone figured out the reason why she left the group, so now to how it was planned.
1. Create a list:
I created a list of items needed for the bridal shower after fighting a battle of making it budget friendly.
2. Make Inquiries:
After creating a list, I made inquiries about the prices of the items listed to enable comparison of prices while searching for quality products and services.
3. Run everything you have done by everyone:
Because Transparency is Key, Share the list with the total sum of money for all the services and products needed and divide it among the number of people in the group to get an approximate amount each participant should pay.
4. Ensure you keep up with the vendors on the items needed to avoid an Amaka disappoint me situation
5. Inform her husband-to-be of the plans to surprise his baby girl, also endeavor to keep him posted on activities that day and ermmm! you’re good to go…
These are the steps I followed while planning the surprise bridal shower…
Let me know if you will apply them and when you do, please let me know how it goes…
